Frequently asked questions about our prices
We keep our pricing transparent, which is why we explain the common questions about it in more detail here.
How much do bookkeeping, tax records or tax advisory cost?
The price of accounting services depends mainly on the type of business, the scope of the accounts, the number of documents, VAT registration, employees and other specifics of your business. That is why we do not want to use a single universal price list, which would not be accurate for most clients anyway.
You can work out an indicative price in a moment in our calculator below. We then refine the result together according to your specific situation, so that you know what price to expect before the cooperation even starts.
What is included in the monthly fee?
The monthly fee covers above all everything that recurs regularly and predictably as part of keeping the accounts or tax records. Typically this is the processing of accounting documents, bank movements and payments, the regular payroll agenda, VAT-related filings and other routine administration according to the scope of your services.
Alongside that there are tasks that occur only once or a few times a year. Typical examples are an employee joining or leaving, taking the accounts over from a previous accountant, more extensive administration when starting a business, the annual tax return or an extraordinary tax assessment beyond ongoing advisory.
We therefore do not artificially spread this work into the regular fee. You pay for it only when it actually happens. We consider that fairer — for example towards a client who takes on one employee in several years, compared with paying the same amount as a company with high staff turnover.
If something is to be charged separately, we tell you in advance, including the expected price. We do not want our invoice to surprise you after the fact.
What counts as an accounting document or an accounting item?
Please treat the estimated number of documents in the calculator as genuinely indicative. It is not always easy for a client to tell how many accounting items their documents will ultimately produce.
Common items include received and issued invoices, individual movements on the bank account, cash documents, card payments, internal documents or payroll items. Accounting also produces items you do not see at first sight — for example exchange rate differences, accruals or splitting one document across several accounting entries.
That is why your own estimate may be somewhat lower than the actual number of accounting items. The calculator takes this into account and we then confirm the final scope together.
What happens if I have more documents than usual in a given month?
In most cases nothing at all. The whole point of a monthly fee is that the price of your accounting is predictable and does not change every time you have a few more invoices in a month.
For a new business we start from a reasonable estimate and after a few months we can check whether it matches reality. When taking over existing accounts we can also draw on data from previous periods.
A single busier month therefore does not automatically change the price. If, however, the business grew significantly over the long term and the actual scope of the accounts corresponded to a higher band, we would agree on an adjustment of the fee. You will always know about any change in advance.
If your business is strongly seasonal, we can also agree on a different way of pricing that makes more sense for you.
Is the price fixed, or can it change during the cooperation?
We try to make the price we agree at the start stable and predictable in the long term.
We therefore do not recalculate the fee every month according to a few documents more or less, and we have no automatic inflation clause that would mechanically raise your price every year.
The price may change mainly if the business itself changes significantly — for example if the number of documents grows several times over, employees are taken on, the company becomes VAT registered or starts dealing with a substantially more complex agenda.
As with any other service, after a few years there may of course be a slight adjustment of the price list. We will never make one without notifying you first.
Are the tax return and the financial statements included in the monthly price?
As a rule they are not, and they are charged once a year on top of the monthly fee.
The reason is simple: this is work that does not arise regularly every month but usually once a year, and its complexity differs significantly between clients.
For a standard personal or corporate income tax return and the related year-end work, the price usually comes to roughly one additional monthly fee. That makes the price predictable and you do not have to wait at the end of the year to see how large the invoice will be.
If your situation is non-standard and requires substantially more work, we will point that out and agree the price in advance.
Is there an extra charge for taking the accounts over from a previous accountant?
The first consultation about switching from another accountant is free of charge. We want you to have the chance to get to know us, discuss your situation and find out whether our way of working suits you before you commit to anything.
If we then agree on cooperation, the handover of the accounts — the onboarding — is normally charged at roughly one monthly fee.
Taking the accounts over is not just about handing over a few files. It usually involves communication with the previous accountant, checking and taking over the documents, setting the client up in our systems, setting up the processes for handing over documents, preparing powers of attorney, communication with the relevant authorities and other one-off administration.
You will, however, know the exact price before the transfer starts.
What if you find errors in the accounts during the handover?
It depends above all on their extent and significance.
If we come across minor or historical errors whose correction no longer has any practical value, we will point them out and agree together whether it makes sense to go back to them.
If, on the other hand, we find errors that need to be put right — for example because they affect the amount of tax or require an additional tax return — we will explain the situation, propose how to correct it and price the necessary work in advance.
Such correction is not part of the regular monthly fee, because its extent cannot be foreseen when the cooperation starts. But we never correct anything and invoice it afterwards without you knowing about it in advance.
Which accounting or tax services are charged separately?
We charge separately above all for work that is not part of the regular monthly agenda and whose need and extent cannot reasonably be included in the fee in advance.
Typically this means, for example:
- taking the accounts over and the initial onboarding,
- the annual tax return and the related year-end work,
- employees joining and leaving and other extraordinary HR administration,
- corrections or reconstruction of accounts from previous periods,
- additional tax returns,
- extraordinary tax consultations and assessments beyond the advisory included in the fee,
- non-standard administration or representation unrelated to routine bookkeeping.
We do not want to hide services in the monthly fee that you may never use. You therefore pay for extraordinary work only when you actually need it — and we always discuss its price with you in advance.
For a typical client this means only a few such situations a year, so the main part of the accounting cost stays predictable over the long term.
The price from the calculator is too high — can anything be done about it?
Yes and no. We approach each client individually and try to find a solution that makes sense for both sides. Treat the result from the calculator primarily as indicative — the final price can be affected, for example, by the way and efficiency of handing over documents or by the scope of the tasks you want to handle yourself.
Some clients, for example, keep part of the administration themselves and come to us only for the tax return or for an expert review. Do get in touch and we will look at your specific situation together.
At the same time we take pride in quality and a personal approach. Your accounts and taxes are handled directly by us — we do not pass them on to anonymous junior accountants who change several times a year. Our goal is therefore not to be the cheapest on the market, but to provide a service you can rely on in the long term.
You run the business.
